Or, what do you get when you combine an engineer and a writer?

I am an environmental storyteller, drawing from a 25-year environmental engineering career with work in 9 countries on 3 continents and 2 island nations.
I have a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MA in Liberal Studies from Hamline University.

I am the Property & Finance Director at the Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Red Wing, Minnesota.
NEWS
2019 – Attended Wordsmith, a conference by The Loft, a renowned literary center in Minneapolis, to develop writers’ ability to publish via networking and creating author platforms

2019 – Attended the Breadloaf Environmental Writer’s Conference, where I workshopped the 3rd Draft of The Water Engineer
​
2011-2013 – Attended classes at The Loft culminating in an invitation-only Master Class, to develop the novel The Arctic Proposal
​
2009-2011 - Advisory Member to Red Wing, MN Sustainability Commission
​
2000 – Received Commander’s Coin from U.S. Army for creating a Public Gardens
​
1999 – Received Environmental Innovation Award, from Raytheon, for creativity of environmental program while reducing long-term costs
​
1997 – Published Ecofeminism in Kenya in the anthology Ecofeminism: women, culture, nature
1996 – Led team that received a Grand Award from the Minnesota Consulting Engineer’s Council for a natural systems groundwater remediation design that utilized the first constructed wetlands to treat contaminated groundwater in Minnesota
